Boston Red Sox Activate Tyler O'Neill from Injured List

Red Sox Welcome O'Neill Back After Successful Rehab

O'Neill Set to Bolster Red Sox Outfield

Boston, MA - The Boston Red Sox have activated left fielder Tyler O'Neill from the 10-day injured list. O'Neill had been sidelined with a hamstring injury since mid-August.

Prior to his injury, O'Neill was a key contributor to the Red Sox, batting .265 with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs in 75 games. He is expected to provide a boost to the Red Sox's struggling offense, which ranks 26th in the league in runs per game.

"We're excited to have Tyler back," said Red Sox manager Alex Cora. "He's a big part of our team and we're looking forward to what he can bring to the lineup."

O'Neill was sent on a rehab assignment to the Worcester Red Sox of the Triple-A International League last week. In three games with Worcester, he went 3-for-11 with a home run and three RBIs.

The Red Sox are currently in fourth place in the American League East, 5.5 games behind the division-leading New York Yankees. With O'Neill back in the lineup, the Red Sox will look to make a push for a wild-card berth.
