Former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed as the new manager of the United States men's national team.

The 51-year-old Argentine has signed a five-year contract with the US Soccer Federation and will begin his role on January 1, 2023.

Pochettino will be tasked with leading the USMNT to the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

He will also be responsible for overseeing the development of the US youth national teams.

Pochettino is a highly-respected coach who has a proven track record of success at club level.

He led Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019 and won the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain in 2022.

Pochettino is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to get the best out of his players.
